FAQ
Common questions, answered.
Everything you need to know about working with a licensed Level 2 electrician in Moruya and the wider Eurobodalla. Still unsure? Call Lachlan directly on 0403 201 139.
What areas do you service around Moruya?
Connect 2 Power services the entire Eurobodalla coastal strip, from Long Beach and Batemans Bay in the north through Mogo, Broulee, Moruya, Tuross Head, Bodalla and Dalmeny, down to Narooma in the south. Lachlan is Moruya-based, so most jobs in and around Moruya can be looked at quickly. For surrounding towns we plan visits around the working week to keep travel time low and quotes accurate.
Are you a fully licensed electrician?
Yes. Connect 2 Power Pty Ltd is fully licensed and insured. Lachlan Gamble holds NSW Electrical Licence No. 491521C and the business operates under ABN 98 689 251 983. Every job is signed off to AS/NZS 3000 standards and we issue a Certificate of Compliance for Electrical Work (CCEW) where applicable, which is what insurers and conveyancers will ask for if you ever sell the property.
What is a Level 2 electrician and do I need one?
A Level 2 electrician is accredited to work on the network side of your property, meaning anything between the power pole and your meter. That includes new service connections, overhead and underground point-of-attachment work, service line upgrades, metering installation and disconnections or reconnections. A standard electrician cannot legally do this work. If you are building new, upgrading from single phase to three phase, or installing a higher-capacity supply for things like EV charging or a large heat pump, you need a Level 2 ASP. Lachlan is qualified to handle these jobs end to end so you are not stuck coordinating two trades.
Do you offer free quotes?
Yes. We give free written quotes for any job above a basic call-out. For most residential and renovation work we can scope and price from a quick site visit. For new builds and larger projects we work from your plans and electrical layout, and we are happy to attend a site meeting with your builder or designer at no cost.
How quickly can you come out and look at a job?
For straightforward jobs in Moruya, Batemans Bay or Narooma we can usually attend within a few business days. Genuine electrical safety issues (no power, burning smell, sparking, damaged switchboard) are prioritised and we will make every effort to be on site the same day. The fastest way to lock in a slot is the quote form on this page, with as much detail and a photo or two if you can. Lachlan responds personally to every enquiry.
Can you upgrade my switchboard?
Yes. Switchboard upgrades are one of the most common jobs we do across the Eurobodalla, particularly in older homes around Batemans Bay, Moruya and Narooma where ceramic fuses and undersized panels are still in service. A modern board with safety switches (RCDs) on every circuit is now the standard for both safety and insurance. We will replace your existing board, fit RCDs and circuit protection to current standards, label every circuit clearly and provide the CCEW for the work.
Do you install EV chargers?
Yes. We install single-phase and three-phase EV chargers for homes across the Eurobodalla. For most homes a 7 kW wall charger is enough for overnight charging, but if you have solar, multiple vehicles or want faster charging we can scope a three-phase install. Where your existing supply or switchboard is not up to it, we coordinate the Level 2 service upgrade in the same visit so you are not paying two trades.
Do you do electrical work for new builds and renovations?
New builds and renovations are a core part of what we do, particularly for architectural homes across Batemans Bay, Moruya, Broulee and Narooma. We work directly from your plans or with your builder and designer to map out lighting, switching, data, EV, solar readiness and switchboard sizing well before rough-in. Doing the planning properly at the start avoids the most expensive electrical changes, which are the ones made after the plasterboard goes up.
Can you help with home automation, smart lighting and data cabling?
Yes. We cover the full electrical scope for considered homes, including data cabling, structured wiring, networked smart lighting, motorised blinds, audio cabling, intercoms and security cabling. We design the rough-in around how the home will actually be used rather than retrofitting later. If you have a designer or integrator already involved, we are happy to coordinate directly with them.
Do you handle commercial and business electrical work?
Yes. Alongside residential work we look after small commercial fit-outs, shop and cafe lighting, three-phase upgrades, switchboard work and exit and emergency lighting compliance across the Eurobodalla. We can run scheduled maintenance and emergency call-outs for local businesses, which keeps insurance, fire and electrical compliance in one place.
Do you offer emergency electrical work?
Yes. For genuine electrical emergencies such as full power loss, sparking, burning smells, damaged service lines or storm damage in the Moruya, Batemans Bay and Narooma area, call directly on 0403 201 139 rather than using the form. We will make every effort to be on site the same day. For safety, if you can smell burning or see damage to the meter or pole, switch the main off at the board if you can do so safely and wait for us to arrive.
How do I book an electrician in Moruya?
The quickest way is the Get a Free Quote form at the top of this page. Tell us where you are, what the job is, and add a photo or two if it is something visible like a switchboard or a light fitting. For urgent jobs call Lachlan directly on 0403 201 139. We respond personally to every enquiry, usually the same business day.
